BindiMaps stars at Disability Expo

BindiMaps starred at the City of Sydney’s National Disability Expo at the Sydney Town Hall on May 22, Exhibiting at the event and BindiMapping the expo show floor for visitors.

There were 54 exhibitors displaying a range of products and services for those with disabilities and their supporters, and each exhibitor featured in the BindiMaps app.

This meant that for the first time, people who were blind or vision impaired could independently and safely find their way to any of the exhibitors on an expo show floor.

More than 700 people visitors saw the expo, with many, both vision impaired and sighted, using BindiMaps to find their way around in the Town Hall venue.

BindiMaps was installed and fully operational on the morning of the event, and then all our beacons were safely taken down less than an hour after the expo finished.

Several team members spent the day demonstrating the app to visitors and encouraging downloads, and talking to several other exhibitors such as Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and NSW TAFE, who are partners or potential clients.

A very successful event indeed.
