BindiMaps Accessible Wayfinding Project for University of Melbourne

Thanks for your interest in the BindiMaps Wayfinding Project for the University Melbourne and for scanning our QR code to find out more. Here are some details about what we’re doing on Campus.

Who is filming?

BindiMaps is taking GoPro video scans as part of the process to enable its totally accessible wayfinding system at certain areas at the university. While we are capturing video, it will not be published or shown beyond a tight group of BindiMaps team members.

What’s the purpose of the filming?

The filming is required for an Accessible Wayfinding Proof of Concept. The video will be transformed into a digital point cloud which will be used for the BindiMaps wayfinding mobile apps.

What personal information may be collected?

Individuals might be recorded during the filming process. No images of people will be included in the resulting digital point cloud used for indoor positioning.

How will the video be used?

The video will be used to create a digital point cloud of various spaces to provide accurate indoor positioning.

Who will the video be shared with?

The video will not be shared with anyone outside of a small group of BindiMaps team members. It will be deleted once the point cloud has been created.
