Meet Keith Urquhart, Senior Software Engineer at BindiMaps.
Before BindiMaps, Keith was the CTO of a global last-mile delivery and logistics company.
Starting from early startup stage, Keith built and managed a scalable platform that eventually sent thousands of delivery drivers in more than 50 countries exactly where they needed to go when they needed to get there, while constantly tracking them and optimising their performance.
To do that, you need to know how to set up, build and manage complicated, scalable systems that involve navigating and routing in real-time, and that incorporate and deploy complex algorithms.
That’s basically what Keith does at BindiMaps. He’s the guy who conceives, builds and manages the systems and tools that drive our navigation and wayfinding products.
He designed our Content Management System that manages our locations and sends data to our apps. He’s also responsible for Bindilytics, our data management and analytics platform that reports to our clients on traffic flows, searches and other key information, as well as BindiWeb, the web version of the BindiMaps app.
When you open BindiMaps or any of these other products, it’s Keith’s work that gives it the right information it needs, to quickly and efficiently do its job to guide you.
Keith has been developing software for more than 25 years, working in all sorts of industries including entertainment, advertising, games and energy.
He is the co-founder of a startup that manages the budgets and planning needs of touring artists including rock bands and other acts (including some of the biggest in Australia), and he’s an accomplished sound engineer who contributes to a robotic drummer that regularly tours Australasia.
