The Australian Open (AO) 2025 has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible tournament it has been! As one of the world’s biggest international sporting events, it brings together the best tennis players and fans from across the globe. This year, we’re especially proud to have played a role in making the AO experience more accessible and inclusive than ever before.

Helping Fans Navigate the Action with Ease

With our innovative technology, thousands of fans, including those with a disability, could move through the massive space with confidence. With record usage and glowing reviews, we’re thrilled to see how our technology is transforming the way people experience major international events.

A huge shoutout to the Australian Open team for their strong commitment to accessibility. Their dedication to ensuring that every fan, regardless of ability, can enjoy the tournament independently is setting a new benchmark for sporting events worldwide.

Empowering Young Fans with Guide Dogs Australia

One of the most rewarding moments of the tournament was seeing students with vision impairment, supported by Guide Dogs Australia, use BindiMaps to navigate the event space. These school-aged clients embraced the opportunity to explore the large environment with confidence, combining their mobility aids with our technology to enhance their independence.

Luke Price, Orientation and Mobility Instructor at Guide Dogs Australia, shared:

“The students loved exploring the large expanses of the Open environment with their mobility aids and even tried using BindiMaps as an extra navigational tool to find a nice place in the shade for the group to enjoy some lunch.”

Hearing this kind of feedback reminds us why we do what we do, ensuring that everyone can independently experience and enjoy world-class events like the Australian Open.

As we reflect on the success of the Australian Open 2025, we’re more excited than ever to continue making sports, entertainment, and public spaces more accessible. See how we’re transforming events with our accessible wayfinding technology here.

Thank you to everyone who used BindiMaps this year, and to the AO team for leading the way in inclusivity on the global stage.
