RSB hosts us for Adelaide Tech Fest

The Royal Society for the Blind in Adelaide held its Tech Fest in June and invited BindiMaps to map the venue and be one of the exhibitors.

Anna and Tony attended the event, and it was a great chance to showcase BindiMaps to the Adelaide community, including users and potential customers, and we are very grateful to the team at the RSB for giving us the opportunity.

The event was held over two levels in the beautiful National Wine Centre, which is part of the University of Adelaide. The building itself is unusual, which sweeping high bent steel and wooden beams that are reminiscent of the ribbing supports in a wooden ship.

But the building shape proved no problem for the BindiMaps app, which once again was able to guide users to individual exhibitor tables, even though they were only 1.8m long.

Attending the event were RSB ambassadors, singing artist Rachael Leahcar and blind surfer Derek Rabelo. Hearing these inspirational young people speak and sing was definitely one of the highlights.

Anna was very excited to win a Derek Rabelo surfboard at a silent auction for the event!

We’re now talking with many of the potential clients we met at Tech Fest, and we should be back in Adelaide in coming weeks to set up some new installations!
