Modern Slavery Statement
Relating to Financial Year ending 30 June 2026
Approved by Bret Duckers, Managing Director
Introduction
Modern slavery is the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, debt bondage and human trafficking, often in horrendous conditions from which the victim cannot escape. All of these have in common the deprivation of the liberty of a person by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Businesses have a key part to play in the effort to tackle this crime and protect vulnerable workers from exploitation.
MapitX Pty Ltd trading as BindiMaps (BindiMaps, we, us, our) has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or our supply chains.
We comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), which applies in Australia where our head office is located. We also commit to complying with all local laws and governance requirements in any jurisdiction in which we conduct our business.
Statement
Our annual consolidated revenue is below the mandatory reporting threshold under both the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, so we are not required to produce an annual statement. However, we choose to produce this statement voluntarily, as a reflection of our values and our commitment to accessibility, inclusion and human rights.
This statement relates to the financial year ending 30 June 2026.
Modern slavery legislation requires a statement to describe the steps the organisation has taken during the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any of its supply chains, or in any part of its own business. This statement follows that approach.
We cannot guarantee that our entire supply chain is free of modern slavery, and this is not a legal requirement. This statement sets out the steps we have taken to assess the risks and mitigate them.
Organisational Information
MapitX Pty Ltd trading as BindiMaps is an Australian proprietary company. BindiMaps has built the first infrastructure-free indoor navigation technology in the world, guiding people through hospitals, universities, offices, retail spaces and major events with no beacons, no hardware and no limits. We are driven by a single mission: making every indoor space 100% accessible, so everyone can move through it with confidence and independence.
Our head office is in Australia, our team is based in Australia, and we deliver our services to clients in Australia and overseas.
Our Supply Chain and Procurement
BindiMaps technology is designed and developed in house by our team in Australia and delivered to clients globally as a digital product. As a software business, we do not manufacture physical goods, and our supply chain is small.
Our main suppliers are cloud hosting, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and technology providers, most of which are large multinational companies that publish their own modern slavery statements. We also purchase standard office and IT equipment, and use professional services such as accounting and legal advisers.
Areas of risk identified within the business and supply chain
Given the nature of our business, we consider the overall risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains to be low. The areas we have identified as carrying some indirect risk are:
- Cloud and SaaS providers: the data centres, hardware and outsourced services (such as cleaning, security and construction) used by our providers may carry indirect risk. We manage this by using reputable providers that publish their own modern slavery statements.
- IT equipment: electronics such as laptops and mobile phones are made in global supply chains where forced labour risks have been identified, particularly in raw material extraction and component manufacturing. We buy this equipment from established, reputable retailers and brands.
- Contractors and service providers: where we engage contractors or service providers, we expect them to comply with all applicable workplace laws and with the standards set out in our Code of Conduct.
Policies and Processes relating to Modern Slavery
The following company policies support our Modern Slavery due diligence:
- Code of Conduct (including our expectations of suppliers and contractors)
- Whistleblower Policy
- Recruitment and employment practices that comply with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), including written employment contracts and payment of at least the applicable award or minimum wage
KPIs
We use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective our actions have been in identifying and addressing modern slavery risks in any part of our operations and supply chains.
Below are the key performance areas that we assess:
- Policies
- Risk Assessments
- Due Diligence
- Training
Against each of these focus areas we have developed KPIs that are used to assess the effectiveness of our actions. These include:
- Update of the Modern Slavery Statement and review of supporting policies annually
- Annual review of our key suppliers for modern slavery risk
- The number of modern slavery concerns identified and remediated
- The percentage of employees who have read and acknowledged our Code of Conduct and this statement
Over subsequent reporting periods, we will continue to review and enhance these KPIs and develop further metrics to assess the effectiveness of our actions, in line with continuous improvement.
Training of employees around Modern Slavery
All employees receive information on modern slavery through our Code of Conduct and this statement when they join BindiMaps and whenever these documents are updated. Employees are asked to confirm that they have read and understood them.
Reporting
If a case of modern slavery is suspected, the following steps are advised.
A suspected victim of modern slavery is not to be confronted directly as this may endanger them.
If there is an immediate risk to life, call the local emergency number (for example 000 in Australia, 911 in the US, 112 in Europe or 999 in the UK), then contact the national helpline or report it online.

Employees should raise any suspicions with their manager or a director of the company or make a report under our Whistleblower Policy.
If there are concerns around modern slavery with any of our suppliers, we will first look to work with them to remedy the situation with an improvement action plan implemented and more rigorous auditing of the organisation.
If the response from any of our suppliers seems inadequate and appropriate measures are not put in place to address coercion, threat, abuse, and exploitation of workers, then we would look to give that company more support, guidance and incentives to tackle the issue. This could include working with at-risk suppliers to provide training, messages and business incentives or guidance to implement anti-slavery policies.
If modern slavery is identified or suspected, and resolution is not possible with the supplier, we will engage with local non-governmental organisations, industry bodies, trade unions or other support organisations to attempt to remedy the situation. If warranted, we will contact local government and law enforcement bodies. Our approach will always consider the safest outcome for the potential victims, while also recognising the economic influence and control which the organisation holds over those who may be committing these crimes.

Any employee who breaches our policies related to this statement will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or serious misconduct.
Any suppliers, individuals or organisations working with us, or on our behalf, who breach our policies related to this statement may have their relationship or contract with us terminated.
